Infanta Malaria Prevention Foundation

The Infanta Malaria Prevention Foundation (IMPF) is a Non-Governmental Organization established to raise awareness about Malaria prevention and treatment.

At least one million deaths occur every year from Malaria, 90% of these in Africa. The majority of those killed are children under five years old. Infants and small children have no resistance to the parasite inoculated by the Anopheles Mosquito, which is prevalent in West Africa.

The Foundation was founded February 2005, when a group of civic minded people decided to work closely with a few of the leaders of Malaria research in Ghana to formulate a program which would bring awareness about Malaria prevention through educational and social projects both in urban and rural Ghana.
